Wili Mamani was born in Tacna, Peru. The artist studied at the art school “Francisco Laso”
from 1990 to1994, and graduated from “National University of San Agustín”, in 1999. As a
young boy, he drew constantly and his artistic talent developed quickly. It was only natural for
him to pursue art and he sold his first painting at an early age.
Mamani’s paintings reflect his appreciation of the outdoors and capture the life of whatever
subject he paints. With his distinctive style, the subtle moods of nature are dramatically revealed.
He prefers to paint with oils because their unsurpassed texture and richness enable him to
capture shapes and colors, with intimate patterns of light and shadow. The artist enjoys painting
flowers, particularly roses, due to their beauty and vitality. He classifies his style as
contemporary transitional and strives to show the beauty of life through his work.
